Job Summary
Compile and maintain department statistics while ensuring Master Patient Index integrity through merges, additions, deletions, and revisions. Prepare monthly birth and mortality reports for the State Department of Vital Records and serve as a telephone backup and resource to staff. Support clerical and analyst positions during peak workloads, assist with new employee training, and maintain microfilm storage. Participate in quality improvement activities, special projects, and educational workshops to enhance professional growth. Adhere to hospital policies and safety protocols while meeting departmental quality and quantity standards. Full-time, 80-hour pay period, day shift.
Required Qualifications
- Two (2) years experience in an acute care Medical Record Department
- Detail-oriented
- Good organization skills
- Ability to work independently
- Strong interpersonal skills
Desired Qualifications
- Preference may be given to individuals possessing a HS diploma or GED
