Job Summary
Health Fitness Therapist delivers prescribed exercise programs with the Physical Therapy Department to improve physical conditioning and rehabilitation, develops goals and exercise prescriptions, provides counseling for wellness, and creates individualized home exercise plans. Responsibilities include evaluating patients’ resting values, body composition, flexibility, strength, endurance, and cardiorespiratory fitness; coordinating with Dietician and Nursing for potential dietary modification; reporting progress to care teams and families; and implementing community and residential program activities. Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education or Exercise Physiology; ACSM certification or equivalent preferred. Work is full-time during weekdays, performed at the clinic with some activity at residential sites and in the community; driving record must be in good standing. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education or Exercise Physiology
- American College of Sports Medicine certification or other appropriate certification is preferred
- Must maintain a good driving record under the DMV
