Job Summary
Supervise the facility, monitor equipment safety, and deliver individual and group exercise instruction while educating participants on proper techniques. Coordinate health improvement programs, conduct fitness testing and assessments, and design individualized programs to meet participant goals. Lead outreach activities, enroll new members, and create marketing materials to drive participation. Oversee the internship program by managing student recruitment, training, and supervision. Work 15 hours weekly in 5-hour shifts Tuesday through Thursday from 12p to 7p in Washington D.C.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a related field (Kinesiology, Exercise Science, etc.)
- 2+ years' fitness and wellness industry experience
- fitness industry certification(s) from a HealthFitness approved provider
- OSHA compliant Adult First Aid/CPR/AED from American Red Cross, American Heart Association, National Safety Council, or American Safety & Health Institute
- Industry recognized Group Exercise Instructor certification from ACE, AFAA/NASM, ACSM, NCCPT or NETA
- Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including at minimum Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with enthusiasm, initiative and creativity
- 15 hours/week
- 5 hour shifts
- Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
- between the hours of 12p-7p
- Must be available for additional shifts on a substitute/as-needed basis
