Job Summary
Health Teacher/Educator for Pathways program focusing on health education to promote student health, disease prevention, and healthy behaviors aligned with Rhode Island Health Education Standards. Responsibilities include developing and implementing the health education program, coordinating with a Director of Special Education, and supporting students with autism and developmental disabilities using ABA methods. Requires collaboration with special educators, therapists, paraprofessionals, and families, and adaptation of content for diverse learners. Must hold a Bachelor’s degree and Health Educator certification, plus relevant experience; a valid driver’s license and vehicle are needed for transport.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education or special education or related field
- Health Educator certification
- Minimum of 2 years’ instruction experience
- Minimum of two years’ experience with individuals diagnosed with autism or other developmental disabilities using applied behavior analytic teaching methods
- Valid driver’s license, automobile insurance and own vehicle for transport
Desired Qualifications

- Applied behavior analytic teaching methods experience
- Competency in tailoring education to diverse cognitive/communication/sensory needs
- Experience with AAC
- Experience collaborating with special educators, therapists, paraprofessionals, and families
- Ability to modify content for diverse learners
- Proficiency with visual supports and assistive technology
- Valid driver’s license and ability to transport as needed
