Job Summary
Teach multiple sections of Health in Grades K-6 and deliver the 'FRIENDS' SEL curriculum to students in grades 2-6. Counsel individual students and co-facilitate student groups while providing social, behavioral, and emotional support strategies for prevention and intervention. Collaborate with the Health and Wellness team to review lessons, develop curriculum, and create interdisciplinary connections with other disciplines. Advise parents and faculty on child development and behavioral challenges, offering resources and referrals for outside support when needed. Stay current on health education best practices, collect data to analyze program needs, and develop faculty training opportunities. This 10-month role supports the K-12 Health and Wellness Department's mission to nurture students' social, emotional, and intellectual lives within the Dalton Plan framework.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in counseling, health education, public health or related fields
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience working with this age group in a school or similar setting
- Experience in developing a data and researched-based Health curriculum
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong commitment to collaboration in support of students and the curriculum
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Reflective practitioner with a willingness to grow professionally
- Demonstrated ability to manage, take initiative, and follow through
