Job Summary
Health Educator II position at Sea Mar Community Health Centers (Washington) focusing on delivering health education to patients, crafting and presenting group health sessions, and collaborating with clinic staff to promote preventive health and accessible services. Responsibilities include assessing health education needs (e.g., hypertension, diabetes, cholesterol, obesity, smoking cessation, sexual health and HIV/AIDS counseling, family planning), developing and evaluating educational materials, maintaining relationships with local providers and community groups, conducting blood pressure screenings as needed, and ensuring materials reflect current best practices. Requires a BA/BS in a related field, several years of health education experience, ability to work with diverse communities, and adherence to Sea Mar’s mission and vaccination requirements. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; duties may involve some outreach, reporting, and use of EHR systems; position involves standard office work with occasional field/community activities.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Health Education, Public Health, Nursing, Education, Nutrition, or other related fields
- at least 5 years of relevant health education experience
- experience in patient counseling, educating groups, developing curricula and materials
- ability to read and interpret safety and operating manuals and to write routine reports and correspondence
- bilingual English/Spanish preferred (language skills)
