Job Summary
Facilitate individual and small group sessions to guide youth toward healthy eating and physical activity habits, while leading weekly family health workshops for parents and caregivers. Conduct one-on-one goal-setting sessions with high-risk students every two weeks and run Wellness Clubs to promote peer support and engagement in fun activities. Support the site-based Healthy Harlem team in implementing nutrition and physical activity programming, gather height and weight measurements, and administer the PACER fitness test. Document student activities, participation, and services provided while advocating for healthier eating across students, families, and staff. Work Monday through Friday between 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM during the school year, with a minimum commitment of 20 hours weekly.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nutrition, health education, public health, community health, or a related health & wellness field
- Experience conducting health/nutrition assessments
- Experience facilitating group and individual health counseling
- Experience implementing health education workshops
- Comfortable working in various urban settings
- Comfortable working with diverse populations
- Familiarity with motivational interviewing techniques
- Team-oriented
