Job Summary
Assist consumers with filing grievances, appeals contesting health insurance denials, and negotiating medical debt or obtaining financial assistance. Provide information, education, and navigational services on using health insurance and accessing care while maintaining thorough case records of services and referrals. Collect and evaluate documents for prior authorization requests and peer-to-peer reviews. Identify systemic trends affecting consumers and draft resources or prepare training materials as needed. Maintain clear, detailed notes of all communications and work closely with senior staff and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Outstanding research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to speak, type, and write clearly, concisely, and persuasively
- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
- Written and spoken fluency in Spanish
- Competency with Office Suite and Salesforce database
- Mission driven
- Ability to speak, type, and write clearly, concisely, and persuasively and keep detailed notes of all communications
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate degree social work, health policy, biology, or other relevant discipline
- A minimum of one year experience providing assistance to consumers and/or advocates on health insurance, or health care access, issues
- Experience with customer service and written advocacy
