Job Summary
Administer assigned medications to self-directed students under school nursing supervision. Conduct physical, visual, auditory, and scoliosis screenings for students and employees. Assist with immunization clinics by recording inoculations, preparing individuals, and maintaining order. Support the school nurse with clerical tasks for referrals and prepare health displays for wellness information dissemination. Follow established procedures for injury and illness reporting, consulting on unusual problems. Maintain confidentiality and emotional control in a fast-paced environment involving frequent interruptions and exposure to communicable diseases.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Desired Qualifications
- Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid, preferred
- Experience working in a School Health Setting, preferred but not required
