Job Summary
Plan and develop the activities department operations to meet residents' interests and abilities; implement and conduct programs as assigned by the Activities Director, encourage resident participation, and lead community outings. Perform setup and cleanup, conduct one-on-one activities, complete assessments and daily attendance, purchase and organize decorations and supplies, assist with decorating Health Center spaces, coordinate the activity calendar and evaluate residents' social needs, manage monthly expenditures and inventory, and develop/implement a recreation program tailored to individual resident needs. Requires flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays; prior experience in senior living activities and knowledge of dementia are preferred. Responsibilities emphasize resident well-being, dignity, and engagement through structured recreational programming and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Experience in recreational and activities programs in senior citizens group nursing homes or related activities within the last two years
- Familiarity with dementia or willingness to learn about the condition
