Job Summary
Provide basic nursing skills including ADLs, finger stick blood glucose, 12 Lead EKG, and recording intake and output. Collect urine, stool, and sputum specimens; apply or remove compression hose, empty drains, and manage urinary catheters and ostomies. Perform patient transport, room turnover, and device placement while documenting all tasks in O2. Maintain a clean environment, ensure fall safety through rounding and call light response, and monitor patient vital signs and mental status. Promptly notify the RN of changes in condition, skin integrity, or pain. Requires high school graduation, six months of experience as a transporter or nursing assistant, and BLS certification. Schedule is Monday through Friday from 0600 to 1430 with no weekends or holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED
- 6 months of experience as a transporter, orderly or nursing assistant
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook
- Data entry skills
- M-F 0600-1430; no weekends; no holidays

Desired Qualifications
- Acute care experience with direct patient care and phlebotomy
