Job Summary
Perform a variety of non-direct and non-clinical healthcare supports to clients, residents, families, and visitors in long-term care, assisted living, and home settings. Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse or another regulated healthcare professional in accordance with established care plans and safety requirements. Maintain effective communication, organization, and physical ability to carry out duties while operating related equipment. Complete the Health Career Access Program training to register as a Care Aide with the BC registry, with funding covering wages, tuition, and books. Applicants must commit to remaining with Vancouver Coastal Health for 12 months post-graduation.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 10
- successful completion of English 10 or equivalency
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to deal with others effectively
- Ability to organize work
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to operate related equipment
- Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check
