Job Summary
Perform a variety of non-direct and non-clinical healthcare supports to clients, residents, families, and visitors in long-term care, assisted living, and home settings. Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse or another regulated healthcare professional, adhering to established care plans and safety requirements within a client and family-centered care model. Complete the Health Career Access Program training to register as a Care Aide with the BC registry, committing to a 12-month tenure with Vancouver Coastal Health upon graduation. Funding covers 100% of wages, tuition, and books during the program.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 10
- successful completion of English 10 or equivalency
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to deal with others effectively
- Ability to organize work
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to operate related equipment
- Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check
