Job Summary
Perform a variety of non-direct and non-clinical healthcare supports to clients, residents, families, and visitors in long-term care, assisted living, and home settings under the direction of a registered nurse. Adhere to established care plans and safety requirements within a client and family-centered care model. Complete an eight-month education program followed by a 12-month Return of Service Agreement, with a total commitment of 1.5 to 2 years including mandatory criminal record checks. Work 37.5 hours weekly across mornings, evenings, and weekends during the training phase.
Required Qualifications
- Proof of Grade 10 completion (or equivalent)
- English 10 completion or equivalent (for applicants with three years of full-time instruction in English)
- Standardized English language proficiency test score (for applicants with less than three years of full-time instruction in English)
- English test (if English is not the first language)
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to deal with others effectively
- Ability to organize work
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to operate related equipment
- Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- Criminal record check for people working with children or vulnerable adults
- Report past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections
