Job Summary
Healthcare Support Worker provides skilled clinical and pastoral support to the nursing team within the Health Centre and boarding Houses, coordinating care and promoting pupil wellbeing. Responsibilities include providing high-quality care under the direction of registered nurses, undertaking delegated clinical tasks, monitoring unwell pupils, assisting with in-patient care, medicines management under nurse direction, infection prevention, stock and records management, safeguarding, and contributing to training and professional development for House staff.
Required Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care, or significant relevant healthcare experience
- Willingness to undertake ongoing training and professional development
- Experience working in a healthcare, residential or care-based setting
- Ability to carry out delegated clinical tasks safely and competently
- Ability to recognise deterioration or concern and escalate appropriately to a registered nurse
- Understanding of infection prevention and control procedures
