Job Summary
Conduct traffic and pedestrian control at site access points while patrolling assigned areas on foot or in motor vehicle to ensure personnel, building, and equipment security. Monitor the environment for safety infractions or hazards, watch for irregularities such as security breaches or emergency situations, and report them immediately. Follow post orders and site-specific training, utilizing two-way radios and computer applications to maintain strict confidentiality of data. Respond to inquiries, offer support to persons in need, and contact emergency responders as required. Maintain site logs and write comprehensive reports while demonstrating composure under pressure. This As Needed position requires an Alberta Security License, Class 5 license, and own vehicle, with availability for overnight shifts and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Availability for variety of shifts including overnight shifts and weekends
- Ability to obtain Alberta Security License
- Valid class 5 license and own vehicle
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills while remaining professional with a tactful and friendly demeanor
- Ability to write comprehensive reports and maintain site logs
- Ability to make immediate decisions, while maintaining composure in emergency situations with minimal supervision
- Discretion when handling confidential and private information
- Ability to perform under pressure and in adversity
- Ability to walk 18-20 km and climb stairs
- Authorized to legally work in Canada
- First Aid
- CPR Level C
