Job Summary
Health Care Nurse role overseeing and delivering registered nurse care on a nursing unit under supervision of the Nurse Manager/Clinical Coordinator. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care; supervising non-RN personnel; serving as Charge Nurse; coordinating and documenting Plan of Care with input from patient, family, and healthcare team; ensuring readiness for discharge; providing care across neuro and cardiac ICU settings with skills in neuro assessment, airway management, suctioning (pharyngeal/endotracheal/tracheostomy), and ventilator care; performing related duties to ensure smooth operation of the department/unit; adherence to unit policies and performance expectations; and contributing to education and patient outcomes. Licensure as a Registered Nurse (CT) is required.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Connecticut
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in CT if applicable per posting requirements
- Nursing practice overseen by CNO and compliance with state Nurse Practice Act
- Ability to perform neuro-focused assessments and care including airway management and ventilator care
- Demonstrated competency in neuro procedures (e.g., suctioning, halo brace care)
- Experience or ability to supervise non-RN personnel and functions as Charge Nurse
- Commitment to patient-centered Plan of Care development, communication, and documentation
