Job Summary
Provides direct nursing care in a medical-surgical setting following established policies, procedures, and protocols. Utilizes the nursing process to develop and implement individualized care plans, assesses patient data, identifies diagnoses, defines expected outcomes, and evaluates care. Establishes therapeutic relationships with patients and families to tailor care plans, coordinates with the inter-professional team, and uses effective communication for collaborative decision-making. Educates patients and families on measures to maintain or restore health, mentors colleagues, applies evidence-based practice, and may perform point-of-care testing according to department policies. Qualifications include graduation from an accredited nursing program and RN licensure; BLS HCP certification required.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing
- Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
