Health Care Nurse

Registered Nurse on a Neuro unit with supervision of non-RN personnel. Performs assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized patient care, develops and documents a Plan of Care, and coordinates care with the healthcare team. Serves as Charge Nurse, delegates Unit activities, and may work on other nursing units as distribution requires. Provides educational opportunities and ensures satisfactory customer service, teamwork, resource utilization, and professional development. Demonstrates competency in neuro patient care, neuro assessment, airway management, and care during neuro procedures, including pharyngeal, endotracheal, tracheostomy suctioning (Halo brace) and ventilator care. Requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, and a Connecticut RN license; minimum 1 year acute nursing experience (critical care or emergency experience preferred).
