Job Summary

Maintain patient medical records using standard language and abbreviations while obtaining vital signs, interviewing patients for medical history, and answering questions. Dispense medications and contraceptives, including injections, under the direction of the Medical Director and supervision of a registered nurse. Administer required tests such as pregnancy tests, HIV screenings, and urine analysis, while obtaining and preparing lab samples according to established protocol. Deliver information in a non-judgmental manner to promote patient access to reproductive services and arrange referrals as necessary. Perform routine clinic maintenance to ensure a safe environment and stay current on policies including OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA compliance.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Demonstrated experience following policies and procedures
  • Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance from primary health center

Desired Qualifications

  • At least 1-year previous customer service experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingual is a plus
  • Previous experience in an office and/or medical setting
  • Familiarity with HIPAA compliance
  • Understanding of basic computer operations
  • Team oriented with strong interpersonal skills
  • Flexible and able to adapt to different situations
  • Analytical with an acute attention to detail
  • Strong decision-making skills and able to take initiative
  • Effective stress management skills
