Job Summary
Health Care Assistant role (Assistant(e) en soins de santé) at Victoria General Hospital in Winnipeg. Under the direction of the RN, provide designated/delegated aspects of patient care, maintain a safe environment, and support the health care team. Demonstrates continuous quality patient care, adheres to safety regulations, and communicates effectively across departments. Position designated bilingual (French/English) with responsibilities including following hospital policies, assisting with patient care, maintaining equipment, and responding to Codes as required. Requires completion of a recognized HCA program, Grade 12, CPR/BCLS compliance, and bilingual capacity in French and English. In-person, part-time (FTE 0.40), with days/evenings/weekends shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Completed Grade 12 or equivalent
- Completion of recognized Health Care Assistant course
- CPR training requirements aligned with employer policy
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) as required for Emergency/ICU/Central Relief Team positions
- Must be able to speak French at predetermined linguistic level
- Ability to write, speak, and understand English
