Job Summary
Health Care Aide in the Y1 Tuberculosis Program providing personal care and basic supportive care under supervision. Serves as a member of the health care team within WRHA Community Health Services, applying PHIA, WHMIS, and Universal Precautions; participates in client care activities, maintains documentation, and supports program goals. Demonstrates effective communication, teamwork, and adherence to department policies; experience in geriatric or community care is preferred. Shifts include days, evenings, and weekends in an in-person term position with a 0.60 FTE, working within a rotating schedule as outlined by the collective agreement; orientation includes assessment tasks and compliance with records checks and Aboriginal language knowledge is encouraged.
Required Qualifications
- Previous client care experience required
- Minimum Grade 10 education
- Successful completion of a recognized Health Care Aide course required
- Position requires current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment
