Job Summary
Assist residents with activities of daily living while maintaining their privacy and dignity, and document care observations for the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. Promote resident independence by adhering to care plans, policies, and procedures, and contribute to a safe environment by following occupational health and safety guidelines. Work cooperatively with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate and change documented care needs, ensuring responsiveness to the holistic physical, psychological, spiritual, social, and emotional well-being of residents. Perform duties during evening shifts from 1800 to 2245, rotating 14 times of 4.25-hour shifts over a four-week cycle.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 10 education
- Government of Alberta approved Health Care Aide certificate
- Registered with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA)
- Ability to work effectively in a physically and mentally demanding environment
- Demonstrates ability to understand, speak, read and write effectively in English
- Excellent observation, communication and problem solving skills
- Criminal Background Check
- Proof of all mandatory immunizations
