Job Summary
Bath, shower, and wash residents according to the NCP while promoting personal comfort and well-being. Transfer and assist residents with movements between beds, wheelchairs, and toilets using appropriate engineering and personal protective equipment. Feed residents during meals and nourishment times, adhering to individualized care plans for diet. Provide routine treatments such as skin creams and bowel protocols under the direction of a Staff Nurse. Assist residents with mobility, travel within the facility, and transitions to the dining room, beauty parlor, physiotherapy, and recreation activities. Accompany residents to social and therapy functions inside the facility. One year of experience in continuing care is preferred, with post-secondary education and CLHA registration required. Required Qualifications
- Must be fluent in English, both orally and in writing
- Completion of a recognized Personal Care Aide (PCA/HCA 2002 or greater) Certificate Course or Equivalent Education Certificate
- Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA)
Desired Qualifications
- One year of experience in continuing care or related environment is preferred
- Post-secondary education an asset
