Job Summary
Health Care Aide (HCA) at AgeCare Walden Heights combines with a care team to deliver resident-centered care under supervision of a Licensed Practical Nurse. Responsibilities include working to full scope of practice, observing residents during bathing, dressing, and mobility, reporting changes to the Staff Nurse, contributing to the Nursing Care Plan, sharing information with the nursing team to address individual resident needs, assisting and accompanying residents in community movement, and reporting unsafe activities. The role emphasizes collaboration, communication, and adherence to care standards to support residents' well-being and safety. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of Health Care Aide program (or provincial equivalent certificate program with minimum 500 hours of theory & practicum)
- Experience working with seniors in the community health services setting
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer focus skills
- Demonstrated sound skills and knowledge of providing personal care duties
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification recommended
- Ability to perform tasks necessary for the position, e.g. lifting/transferring clients
- Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one
