Job Summary
Bath, shower, and wash residents according to the NCP while promoting personal comfort and well-being. Transfer and assist residents with bed, wheelchair, commode, and toilet movements using appropriate engineering and personal protective equipment controls. Feed residents during meals and nourishment times, refer to care plans for appropriate diets, and provide routine treatments such as skin creams and bowel protocols under Staff Nurse direction. Assist residents with facility travel, dining room access, and activities including beauty parlor visits, physiotherapy, and social functions. Requires one year of continuing care experience, post-secondary education, fluency in English, and a recognized Personal Care Aide certificate. Salary is $31.64 per hour for a part-time role.
Required Qualifications
- Must be fluent in English, both orally and in writing
- Completion of a recognized Personal Care Aide (PCA/HCA 2002 or greater) Certificate Course or Equivalent Education Certificate
- Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA)
Desired Qualifications
- One year of experience in continuing care or related environment is preferred
- Post-secondary education an asset
