Job Summary
Health Care Aide (HCA) position at Carewest in Calgary (Temporary Part-Time) delivering prescribed medications and providing ongoing client care within an interprofessional team. Responsible for observing and reporting changes in client status, ensuring changes are communicated to RN/LPN, and maintaining professional standards per Carewest policies. Requires High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an Alberta Health Care Aide program, ability to read/write English, physical capability for lifting/transferring/repositioning clients, active CLHA registration; immunization records may be required for certain environments. Supervisory or program-related responsibilities not specified; the role supports frail seniors in complex continuing care with a shift 0700-1515 and a bi-weekly schedule, located in Calgary, AB.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduation from an Alberta Government recognized Health Care Aide program
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
- Must be physically capable of lifting, transferring and repositioning clients
- Active and current registration with CLHA
- Related experience in a health care facility is an asset
- Program-specific training/experience is an asset
