Job Summary
Part-time Health Assistant at Union School-Based Health Center. The Health Assistant primarily performs clinic support duties, maintains patient records, and assists with medical and mental health clinic support for adolescent health care. Responsibilities include clerical duties such as typing, filing, data entry, scheduling, greeting clients, intake paperwork, and using electronic health record systems; also supports patients and providers, feeds information for year-end reports, and ensures confidentiality. Required skills include ability to work independently, use MS Word/MS Excel, operate office equipment, and provide excellent telephone etiquette. Qualifications include high school graduation or equivalency, First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to pursue), valid Oregon driver’s license with travel insurability, and successful criminal history checks. Experience in a medical clinic setting is preferred. The role is part-time (20 hours weekly, 10 months per year) in Union, Oregon, with California-like travel between offices, and is offered by CHD, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing clinic and health services.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduation or equivalency
- One year of experience in a medical clinic setting preferred, or any equivalent combination of experience and training
- First Aid and CPR certification required or willingness to pursue upon employment
- Valid Oregon Driver’s license and be insurable for travel between business offices, and to attend required meeting and/or trainings
- Must pass all criminal history check requirements as required by ORS 181.536-181.537 and in accordance with OAR 407-007-0200-407-007-0370 and drug screening
