Job Summary
Support school health office functions by promoting physical and emotional well-being of students and staff, monitoring medical waiting areas, and escorting students to and from the health office. Maintain health records, document pertinent information, and assist with data entry while ensuring confidentiality of student medical issues. Provide support for activities of daily living, manage COVID pool testing and follow-up testing, and function as a member of the health services team across multiple school settings. Requires CPR certification, CNA certification preferred, and ability to lift up to 75 pounds with assistance. Works under the supervision of the school nurse during the 2026-2027 school year.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Must have transportation as school day may be split between two or more settings
- Ability to move in and out of office, classrooms, buildings, and up and down stairs
- Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer
- Strength to lift and carry materials weighing up to 20 pounds
- Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen
- Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone
- Strength to lift and/or carry materials/items/persons weighing up to 75 pounds with assistance as the students may need positioning
Desired Qualifications
- Current Massachusetts State Certified Nursing Assistant Certification preferred
- CPR certification
- Certificate/degree from a CNA program
- One year of experience as CNA or Health Assistant preferred
- Prefer prior experience with children in a school or similar setting
