Job Summary
Health & Wellness Specialist responsible for onsite wellness programming, fitness center coordination, and injury prevention services within a manufacturing environment. Duties include planning and implementing employee wellness initiatives, managing fitness-center programming, creating varied workout programs, coordinating wellness events (Lunch & Learns, health fairs, screenings), providing fitness-center orientations and coaching, promoting topics such as fitness, nutrition, stress management, sleep health, and mental wellbeing, conducting posture assessments and ergonomic education, supporting Early Intervention and Prevention Services, and maintaining program records. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion or related field, CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain), knowledge of wellness and injury prevention principles, strong communication and coaching skills, teamwork and confidentiality, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to stand/walk for shift and lift up to 50 pounds. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Promotion or related field
- CPR/First Aid certification or the ability to obtain certification before employment
- Knowledge of wellness, fitness, health promotion, and injury prevention principles
- Previous fitness center, corporate wellness, ergonomic, occupational health, or manufacturing experience preferred
- Strong communication, presentation, and coaching skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- High degree of professionalism and confidentiality
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the assigned shift
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Promotion or related field (such as Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Public Health, Human Performance, Fitness, or Wellness)
- CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain certification before employment
