Job Summary
Conduct initial nursing assessments, coordinate treatments within scope of license, and manage medication administration for residents. Supervise Care Partners and train staff under the Nurse Delegation Act while monitoring quality of work performance and infection control procedures. Evaluate health emergencies, maintain accurate treatment and medication records, and act as resident advocate in medical-social situations. Perform Mantoux tests and Hepatitis B screenings, coordinate therapeutic diets, and verify physician orders. Operate on a 24-hour/7-day basis with an on-call rotation. Requires licensed nurse with three years of experience.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Nurse with State specific accreditation or license
- Three years of nursing experience, including management experience
- Must have a genuine interest in the care of the elderly and for issues that impact the elderly
- Must be able to cope with high levels of stress that position may cause
- Ability to relate to residents and staff in a courteous and diplomatic manner under all circumstances
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team setting and to convey strong public-relations skills
- Maintain a positive, respectful, and professional approach with coworkers, residents, and staff
- Have effective organizational and project management skills with attention to detail
- Possess excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work under time constraints and meet department deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (in English), both verbally and in writing, with residents and staff
