Job Summary
Implement and monitor processes to achieve a safe work environment for employees, contractors, and visitors. Provide occupational health and safety advice to plant staff to ensure compliance with legislation, guidelines, and standards. Partner with management to conduct audits, analyze statistical data, and facilitate corrective actions for safe plant operations. Develop and deliver training requirements while identifying trends to improve safety performance. Support claims/case management and participate in initiatives such as BBSO, risk assessments, and the Joint Health & Safety Committee. Influence plant management to enhance Health and Safety results while aligning with Sofina's five dimensions for success.
Required Qualifications
- Degree, Diploma or Certification from a recognized Occupational Health & Safety program, in the process of obtaining certification or an equivalent combination of experience and training
- 3 - 5 years' experience in a progressive H&S role
- Strong knowledge of applicable Provincial/State safety legislation and regulation, Occupational Health and Safety standards
- Strong document control methodologies, and experience leveraging leading and lagging indicators
- Valid Advanced First Aid Certificate or Emergency Medical Technician Certification

- Preference designations CRSP, CHSC or CRST
