Job Summary

Oversee facility health and safety programs ensuring conformance with OSHA, federal, state, and local regulations. Supervise the facility-wide Housekeeping Program, medical monitoring for the Lead Standard, and lead incident investigations with root cause analyses. Manage worker compensation cases and coordinate environmental improvement projects while maintaining OSHA 300 Logs in the Sentry system. Train facility personnel on safety duties and drive continuous improvement initiatives following Excell Lean Manufacturing procedures. On-call for injury response in a 24/7 operation. Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Manager and EHS leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, or related field
  • 6+ years' experience in safety-related fields
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret federal, state, and local regulations and technical procedures
  • Analytical skills for root cause analysis
  • Hands-on, floor-based approach to safety management style
  • Ability to work effectively and communicate with other departments in the development and accountability of health and safety programs
  • Leadership ability
  • Able to see, hear and speak
  • Able to sit, stand for at least two hours at a time
  • Able to sit, bend, craw, squat, kneel and climb
  • Able to use both arms and hands to use a computer and peripherals
  • Able to lift 40 pounds from floor level to overhead
  • Able to work below ground level in confined spaces and on stationary or mobile elevated platforms
  • Able to wear respirator and other PPE as required
  • Able to climb stairs
  • Regular use of safety glasses and shoes
  • Close vision
  • Able to work inside or outside the plant environment and in all climate conditions
  • Exposed to lead, fumes, chemicals, operating equipment, and powered industrial vehicles
  • Travel as required for training, meeting with regulatory agencies, and to other company-sanctioned events
