Health and Safety Coordinator

Job Summary
Health and Safety Coordinator to support the ongoing improvement of the organization’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Management System. Responsibilities include maintaining safety documentation, assisting with compliance to legislative, client, and company HSE requirements, supporting ISNET/PEC/Comply Works programs, administering the Alcohol and Drug Program, facilitating incident investigations, leading safety communications, conducting site/office visits, and advising leadership on regulatory compliance and emergency management. Requires 5+ years of HSE experience across related sectors, travel to project sites, and ability to work in office and field settings. Preference for CRSP/NCSO or other recognized safety designations; strong computer skills; experience with prequalification assessments and performance auditing against HSEMS; and demonstrated ability to coach a proactive safety culture.
Required Qualifications
- 5 or more years of industry experience in HSE roles in Forestry, Environment, Oil and Gas, Geotechnical drilling, manufacturing and related sectors
- Preference for CRSP (Certified Registered Safety Professional) or NCSO or other recognized safety designation
- Experience as a representative of a Prime Contractor within Canada and/or US
- Strong understanding of industry standards and HSE related legislation (WorkSafeBC, Alberta OH&S, OSHA)
- Experience with HSE management systems and COR/ISO-based frameworks
- Proficient with office software (Word, Excel, Teams)
- Intermediate First aid / CPR or equivalent, H2S Alive, Supervisory Level Ground Disturbance, Wildlife/Bear Awareness, WHMIS/HazCom, Transportation Dangerous Goods (TDG)
- Valid drivers license with reliable driving record for past 3 years
- Ability to travel between office and project locations; field and office mix
