Job Summary
Implement, monitor, and audit management systems to ensure adherence to safety protocols, integrating Permit to Work, LOTO, and High Risk Management Standards. Conduct inspections and audits against internal, client, and legislative requirements while finalizing findings to coach operations on closing actions. Develop JSEAs, Plant Risk Registers, SOPs, and emergency plans, then facilitate risk assessments and safe operating procedure development. Deliver SHEQ-related training, implement injury prevention programs, and build a safety culture through toolboxes and hazard reporting. Identify high-risk factors, produce quantitative reports on strategy effectiveness, and maintain comprehensive inspection records. Function as a field-based member of the VANZ SHEQ team to support safe equipment installation and maintain positive relationships with management and external parties.
Required Qualifications
- New Zealand Certificate in Workplace Health and Safety (Level 4) or equivalent
- NZISM Practitioner Accreditation
- Industry experience in Process Safety, LOTO, and Management of Change (MOC)
- Experience implementing safety systems
- Working knowledge of all relevant Safety legislation
- Current Driver's License
- Valid visa (New Zealand citizen, resident, or secured right to work)
- Safety-focused and respected within the workplace
- Excellent safety knowledge and technical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Google Suite)
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capability
