Health and Safety Advisor - Manufacturing

Job Summary
Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly workplace inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance within a 24/7 production environment. Lead risk assessments for new processes, oversee contractor safety inspections, and manage changes in equipment while maintaining safety standards. Facilitate weekly safety walks with plant leadership, investigate accidents to identify root causes, and issue safety alerts. Maintain safety documentation, coordinate training programs, and ensure adherence to Ontario legislation and corporate policies. Read and comply with all permits under the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Knowledge of Ontario health and safety legislation and best practices
- Experience conducting inspections, investigations, and risk assessments
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to influence and coach leaders and employees at all levels
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Desired Qualifications
- CRSP, CHSC or other Health & Safety certification
- Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment
- Experience supporting a 24/7 operation
