Job Summary
Provide direct health care to students using professional assessment skills and school protocols. Conduct state-mandated screenings for vision, hearing, spinal, and AN while maintaining 100% immunization compliance and accurate records. Serve as a health advocate by notifying parents of accidents, securing emergency medical care, and coordinating medication administration. Act as a liaison between school, physicians, and parents to assess student problems and make referrals. Collaborate with teachers and counselors on Individual Education Plans and participate in health-related committees. Maintain clinic inventory, compile reports, and report safety hazards to the campus director. Make home visits with principal permission to address student health issues.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- One-year experience in a health-related position
- Certified as a Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Certified as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
- Current certification in CPR/AED/ First Aid
- Certified by the Texas Department of State Health Services to conduct vision, hearing, spinal, and AN screenings
