Job Summary
Administer medication to identified students, monitor daily schedules including toileting and appetite, and provide first aid care as needed. Document student activities in daily logs and health files, maintain special equipment, and respond to emergency situations. Communicate with teachers and health professionals to implement IEP and health care plan objectives under Registered Nurse supervision. Complete Medication Administration Training, maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications, and pass criminal background checks.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Job related experience
- Current CPR Certificate
- Current First Aid Certification
- Completion of the Medication Administration Training Module from Missouri DHSS
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to adhere to safety practices
- Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records
- Knowledge of basic math including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios
- Knowledge of reading a variety of manuals
- Knowledge of writing documents following prescribed formats
- Knowledge of presenting information to others
- Knowledge of analyzing situations to define issues and draw conclusions
- Knowledge of age appropriate activities when working with high risk youth
- Knowledge of concepts of grammar and punctuation
- Ability to schedule activities and/or meetings
- Ability to gather and/or collate data
- Ability to use job-related equipment
