Job Summary
Health Aide supports delivery of comprehensive health services for children and families enrolled in Educare Omaha’s Early Head Start/Head Start programs. Responsibilities include providing first aid and health support, responding to medical emergencies, health documentation and data entry, health screenings, medication documentation, monitoring students with health needs, assisting with Emergency Action Plans and Individual Health Plans, supporting dietary needs documentation, and collaborating with families and staff to ensure regulatory and program compliance. Additional duties encompass health screenings (vision/hearing under RN supervision), health education for families, maintaining health office organization, inventory, and ensuring confidentiality and mandated reporting; involvement with multidisciplinary teams and potential mobility across Educare Omaha locations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Medical Assistant, CNA, health-related training, or relevant coursework preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certification
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
- Experience working with young children and families preferred
- Knowledge of health documentation, confidentiality standards, and basic child health practices preferred
- Ability to pass all required background checks and meet compliance standards
