Job Summary
Health Advocate Concierge role at Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC) in Chicago with a six-week onsite training requirement, moving to remote work thereafter. Responsible for guiding members through benefits, navigating the healthcare system, educating on wellness and health programs, assisting with selecting in-network providers, collaborating with families and treating providers, and potentially training others. Requires concierge-oriented customer service experience, knowledge of medical terminology, strong communication and documentation skills, and web/PC proficiency. Schedule is 8am-5pm Mon-Fri for 6 months onsite, then 9am-6pm Mon-Fri. Base pay range is disclosed and will vary with experience.
Required Qualifications
- Associate with 2 years OR, a Bachelor’s with 1 year, OR 3 years of concierge-oriented customer service experience
- Experience emphasizing plan of care, assisting customers to select in-network providers, and train customers on tools
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience building trust and providing concierge level of service
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, including motivational interviewing to interact with the members and physicians
- Attention to detail and strong documentation skills
- Web and PC proficiency
- Preferred: Associate degree in Health Science or Health Studies or Bachelor’s degree
- 3 years of concierge-oriented customer service experience in an insurance environment
- Clinical or social work expertise
- Experience in coordinating medical services
- Knowledge with health benefit plans and the insurance industry
