Headerman III - 2nd Shift

Job Summary

Set up, operate, and maintain two or more header machines to manufacture fasteners and special products while adhering to blueprints and quality standards. Select proper tooling, inspect completed parts using measuring instruments, and troubleshoot heading operations to ensure consistent performance against daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs. Assist less qualified operators and conduct peer development training as needed. Recognize improper machine functioning, make adjustments, and implement waste elimination initiatives to improve quality and tooling life. Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Working experience in fastener manufacturing environment
  • Advance knowledge of heading machinery and procedures
  • Working knowledge with quality and SPC
  • A minimum of 6 years equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend correspondence and basic technical procedures
  • Ability to write basic reports and instructions
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts and calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios and standard units of measurements)
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and follow instructions in written and basic diagram formats
  • Ability to perform and apply different problem solving techniques
  • Ability to handle internal/external situations and multi-task functions
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word
  • Basic knowledge of SPC
  • Basic knowledge of departmental applications (Shop Floor System)
  • Evidence of 'US person' is required under ITAR
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to walk
  • Must have eye-hand coordination
  • Must have manual dexterity
  • Must be able to reach with hands and arms
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Must be able to listen and speak
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
  • Must have close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
  • Must have distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more)
  • Must have color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
  • Must have peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right)
  • Must be able to adjust focus
  • Must have hearing within normal/average range
  • Must be able to wear personal safety equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, or proper footwear PPE
  • Must be able to respect and ensure respect for instructions and rules established in the field of health, safety and the environment
  • Must be able to immediately correct, whenever possible, or report to superiors and/or the HSE department, any malfunction or risky situation in the fields of health, safety and environmental protection
  • Must be able to implement preventive actions to reduce the environmental footprint and control health and safety risks
  • Must be able to participate, upon request, in analyses (of risks, incidents) and HSE working groups related to his/her professional scope
  • Must be familiar with the main health and safety risks and the main environmental impacts relating to the scope of his/her work
  • Must be familiar with the site's HSE policy and objectives
  • Must be able to make proposals for improving working conditions and limiting environmental impact
  • Must be available for Monday - Thursday: 2:30pm - 1:00am
