Job Summary
Head Varsity Softball Coach leads the varsity softball program, promoting athletic, academic, and personal growth of student-athletes. Responsibilities include promoting, selecting, supervising and instructing players; coordinating and evaluating assistant coaches; planning practices with the Athletic Director; ensuring safety, health, and sportsmanship; maintaining records and equipment; and representing the program with positive leadership and communication within the district and community.
Required Qualifications
- Must demonstrate the ability to be organized and have good communication skills
- Must have (or willing to obtain) current PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse and FBI Criminal History Background Checks
- Acquire and maintain First Aid and CPR certification yearly (provided by Central York School District)
- Explain the expectations of the head coach to each assistant coach as it pertains to performance and evaluation
- Plan and schedule practices in coordination with the Athletic Director
- Maintain accurate and timely records as mandated by PIAA/Conference
- Safeguard all equipment and facilities to assure safety and proper use
