Job Summary
Manage day-to-day operations, safety, and curriculum for center/classroom children, integrating health, safety, and nutritional education into age-appropriate learning plans. Ensure compliance with State of CT licensing codes, federal, state, and local laws, NAEYC standards, and funding requirements while maintaining up-to-date staff files. Oversee administrative paperwork, classroom and playground cleanliness, and staff supervision in collaborative classrooms to maintain CLASS domain compliance. Positions available in Groton, Taftville, and New London. Pay ranges from $21.50 to $23.00 based on degree and credits. Requires a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in ECE with 12 credits, or a CDA with enrollment in a related program. Full benefits including 403B, medical, dental, and 13 paid holidays. Must work 35-37 hours weekly, 52 weeks/year, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM on a rotational basis.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's OR Associate's degree in ECE or related field with required 12 OEC/ECE credits (Intro to ECE, Child Development, Health, Safety& Nutrition in ECE and Child, Family & Community)
- Current center-based Child Development Associate credential (CDA) with 12 ECE credits, and enrolled in a program that will lead to an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in ECE or related field, this must include the required OEC courses
- Have access to reliable, insured transportation
- Provide a TVCCA Staff Statement of Good Health signed by a physician, physician's assistant, or nurse practitioner completed within twelve (12) months before the date of employment, and every Thirty-six (36) months for current staff
- Must have or obtain and maintain CT Childcare Pediatric First-Aid, CPR, AED and medication administration certification
- Must have or obtain within 90 days of hire the Care 4 Kids Health and Safety Training
- Have the credentials to obtain a Connecticut Head Teacher License from the Department of Public Health
- Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50lbs
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Be able to work 35-37 hours/week, 52 weeks/year
- The TVCCA Little Learners Early Education Program requires staff to be available from 7:00AM – 5:00PM to cover center operational hours on a rotational basis
- Continue professional development per funding source requirements
- Strong Computer skills
- ability to effectively communicate with children, parents, staff and volunteers
