Job Summary
Lead Teacher responsible for the academic, instructional, remedial, behavioral and adaptive needs of assigned children in an early childhood classroom; supervise Assistant Teachers/Aides/Volunteers/Interns; develop curricula and enrichment activities; prepare daily lesson plans; maintain progress records; ensure classroom safety and appropriate environment; collaborate with parents/guardians, outside agencies, and Center Director; may support at other locations; requires ability to meet reporting mandates and uphold center's mission and conduct.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a childcare setting or working with children
- Certification preferred, but must be study plan eligible on a pathway towards NYS certification
- Be enrolled in BA/S program in Education or ECE with 90 completed college credits OR have a BA in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Child Psychology, Elementary Education (N-6), Special Education (B-2) OR General Education (with 12 credits in Early Childhood Education) while enrolled in MS program pursuing Early Childhood Education or Students with Disabilities OR MS in ECE or Childhood Education while taking certification exams until passed and certification acquired
