Job Summary
Teach, guide, and supervise children aged 6 weeks to 5 years using a trauma-informed approach aligned with NAEYC, Keystone STARS, and DHS guidelines. Plan and implement lessons based on the Creative Curriculum and PA Early Learning Standards while executing best practices to create healthy, safe, positive learning climates. Collaborate with parents and an assistant teacher to prepare each child for educational success, ensuring assessments are appropriate and fair. Develop lesson plans that incorporate activities addressing all developmental domains. This role supports the Drueding Center's mission of providing transitional housing and community services to homeless families and individuals with intellectual and development disabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field such as Elementary Education, Child Development and Special Education, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education such as early childhood development, early literacy and assessment for young children and one year's experience working with children
