Job Summary
Plan, organize, and lead practice sessions while educating athletes on rules, strategies, and techniques. Train and motivate student athletes to prepare for games, develop physical conditioning programs, and evaluate fitness levels to assign roles based on strengths. Ensure safety compliance by teaching regulations, enforcing equipment use, and modifying coaching strategies as needed. Maintain high academic and athletic expectations for athletes and managers while overseeing staff and utilizing assistant coaches.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent leadership and motivational skills
- Extensive knowledge of the assigned sport
- Ability to work with student athletes
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- One to two or more years of experience as a high school level coach preferred
