Job Summary
Lead a Head Start classroom of 3–4-year-old children with a child-centered curriculum, observing and documenting progress, and partnering with families to support learning at home. Responsibilities include implementing developmentally appropriate experiences, integrating IEPs for children with disabilities, creating partnerships with families, maintaining a print-rich environment to develop literacy and numeracy, and ensuring safety and licensing compliance in collaboration with an assistant teacher and staff.
Required Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field; candidates with an Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in a non-related field and at least 6 relevant courses can be considered
- Physical exam and background checks required
- Travel required locally or long-distance up to 10% of the time for work-related meetings and functions
- Must have a valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation
