Job Summary
Plan and implement high-quality early education and child development services for Head Start children ages three to five. Lead classroom operations by developing weekly lesson plans aligned with developmental progressions, conducting ongoing assessments, and ensuring children's health and safety. Provide direction to Associate Teachers and Assistants while collaborating with content staff, substitutes, and volunteers to meet the needs of assigned children and families. Complete required documentation including home visits, developmental screeners, parent conferences, and anecdotal notes. Maintain a developmentally appropriate, well-organized classroom environment and safeguard all equipment and materials.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in early childhood education/child development
- Associate degree in any major with at least 12 credits in early childhood education/child development
- Six (6) months in a similar position working with pre-school aged children
- Ability to supervise and interact with a group of 15-20 preschool children
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Access to a vehicle which is insured as required by the Texas Financial Responsibility Law
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education/child development
- At least 12 credits in early childhood Education
