Job Summary
Head Start Teacher at Baltimore City Head Start, responsible for managing the classroom, delivering curriculum aligned with Head Start Performance Standards, implementing IEP/IFSP, and fostering a positive home–school partnership. Duties include supervising children, utilizing the Head Start curriculum and CLASS dimensions (Emotional Support, Classroom Organization, Instructional Support), developing individualized lesson plans, engaging families through conferences and home visits, and ensuring compliance with state/federal guidelines. Position requires progression toward MSDE credential and offers a sign-on bonus of $2,000. Site placements are determined by program needs; no remote work is available.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with internship or one year of experience teaching preschool-age children (Teacher I)
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with one year of experience teaching preschool-age children (Teacher II)
- Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with one year of experience teaching preschool-age children (Teacher III) and MSDE credential application within 6-12 months of hire
