Job Summary
Assist classroom staff in implementing daily activities and managing a safe, clean environment for children in the Creative Curriculum. Lead specific activities as requested, tend to personal hygiene needs including diaper changing and feeding, and maintain positive relationships with parents while respecting data privacy policies. Know all medical conditions and allergies of children in the classroom and respond appropriately to their needs. Utilize disciplinary measures per Behavior Guidance Policies, ensure children are supervised at all times, and administer First Aid or CPR when necessary. Maintain a cooperative attitude with staff, parents, and volunteers while modeling a calm, soothing voice.
Required Qualifications
- A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential (infant/toddlers or preschool) and 1,560 hours of experience in a licensed early childhood setting or public school system
- AA degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field with 12 credits of accepted, education-related coursework and 1,040 hours experience in a licensed early childhood setting or public school system
- BA/BS degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, or related field with 12 credits of accepted, education-related coursework and 1,040 hours experience in a licensed early childhood setting or public school system
- MA/MS degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, or related field with 12 credits of accepted, education-related coursework and 1,040 hours experience in a licensed early childhood setting or public school system
- Have or obtain within 90 days of hire a First Aid and CPR Certification
- Maintain the certification during employment
- Administer First Aid and/or CPR when necessary
- Comfortable working with computers
- Willing and able to learn program specific systems as needed for position
